In honor of Anita Task, one of the original founders of AKJ Books, we are introducing the Lifetime of Literacy Grant. Anita dedicated herself to
finding books for children of all ages
so that they could experience the joy and love of reading.
We want that legacy to go on! AKJ Books is pleased to offer an annual award to the RIF program that goes the extra step in making literacy richer and more fun for all!
Application specifics are as follows:
The Lifetime of Literacy Grant is a $1,000 award to be used to build and foster literacy of an existing RIF program.
ONE Lifetime of Literacy Grant will be awarded every calendar year on April 1.
The application window spans a six-month period beginning August 1 and ending December 31. All applications must be postmarked by December 31.
Applications will be reviewed by a multi-person committee. All completed applications will be reviewed fairly and equitably. The winner will be selected based on the quality of their application and their demonstrated impact on building literacy.
The grant recipient will be notified by letter, email, and phone.
